I am deeply honored to have been commissioned to write “US” for this incredibly important program.

Residency Options

  • 30-45 Minute Virtual Residency

    • Overview: Composer Michael Bussewitz‑Quarm presents a focused talk about her choral work "US" and the themes behind it.

    • Ideal for: Choirs, conductors, or classes wanting an introduction to the piece and insight into composing for choir today.

    • Technical needs: Stable internet connection and a video conferencing platform (Zoom, Teams, etc.).

  • 60 Minute Virtual Residency and Rehearsal Feedback

    • Overview: Extended virtual session including discussion of "US," as well as tips and feedback (either written or video recorded) of a rehearsal recording.

    • Ideal for: Choirs seeking concrete interpretive and rehearsal guidance to improve performance of "US."

    • Technical needs: Stable internet connection, video conferencing platform, and an uploaded or streamed rehearsal recording (file or link) in advance.

  • In‑Person Residency

    • Overview: Onsite residency with Michael Bussewitz‑Quarm for immersive coaching, rehearsal work, and community engagement around "US" and broader compositional practice.

    • Typical format (customizable): Workshop or masterclass, sectional rehearsals, full rehearsal coaching, open rehearsal or reading session, and a Q&A or lecture for students and community members.

    • Duration options: Half‑day, full day, or multi‑day (schedule and fees to be determined based on scope).

    • Ideal for: Choirs and institutions wanting hands‑on artistic collaboration and deeper interpretive development.

    • Needs and logistics: Rehearsal space, piano or rehearsal accompaniment as required, local travel and accommodation arrangements, and a finalized schedule.
